Program and stages of the TOR Trail Running Camps

The organization of the TOR Camps does not follow the circular route because it must account for the difficulties created by the presence of snowfields along the path.
For this reason, weekends may undergo variations close to the dates, or following reconnaissance conducted by the Coaches before the Camp, or based on the availability of Refuges and assistance.

Questions and Answers

What are the main objectives of the TOR Trail Running Camps?
The camps are designed to prepare athletes to face endurance trail races (such as the TOR) both physically and psychologically.
You will learn training techniques, nutrition management, gear selection, microsleep planning, and race strategies, with the support of certified coaches who have been training on the route since 2015.
Who is this training experience for?
The camp is open to different types of trail runners:
    • athletes approaching endurance for the first time,
    • experienced trail runners who want to test the most difficult sections of Alte Vie 1 and 2, and
    • enthusiasts who wish to live a unique experience.

However, a minimum level of experience is required (having completed 30-50 km races depending on the chosen stage).
On which dates do the 2026 camps take place?
The training sessions take place over a total of 9 days, divided into the following weekends:
  • June 21
  • July 25-26
  • August 1-2
  • August 12-13
  • August 22-23
Is it mandatory to participate in all scheduled dates?
No, the organization offers maximum flexibility.
It is possible to register for a single day, choose multiple separate days, or complete the entire route by participating in all weekends.
Which is the most technically demanding stage in terms of elevation gain?
The stage on August 12-13 (TOR Trail Running Camp 6-7) between La Thuile, Valgrisenche, and Cogne is the toughest: it covers 79 km with a significant 7,300 m of positive elevation gain over two days, including the passage through Col Lauson (3,296 m), the highest point of the entire TOR.
Why doesn’t the camp program exactly follow the circular route of the TOR?
The organization does not follow the classic circular order to manage safety-related difficulties, particularly the possible presence of snowfields along the route.
Stages may undergo variations based on the coaches’ reconnaissance or the availability of the refuges.
What services are included in the basic participation fee?
The basic package at € 119.00 / day includes:
    • Athlete Potential Analysis (APA) and technical assessment of materials.
    • Pre-camp technical briefing and feedback on the preparation test.
    • One day of guided trail running with practical advice.
    • Membership and basic injury insurance.
    • Logistical support and discounts on nutrition and training services.

What extra costs should a participant expect for optional services?
In addition to the base fee, athletes can request:
    • Facility booking: € 5 per night.
    • Accommodation before, during, or after the Camp (variable price).
    • Luggage transport: € 15 per leg per person.
    • Race Sport Nutrition: € 30 per day for personalized needs analysis and a specific sports plan.
