In March 2020, Trail Running Movement and CimAlp signed a partnership for a collaboration in the research, development and promotion of trail running products for the Italian market.
CimAlp is a French brand born in 1964 on the border between France and Italy. The founder is a visionary professional climber in love with the Alps and, today, CimAlp is still located in the Drôme region. The company, ten years ago, converted its traditional business to a pure “online player” focusing on innovation, service and an unbeatable quality/price ratio. After twenty years of success in the mountaineering products market, CimAlp has decided to enter the world of trail running, developing first of all in the French market and positioning its team of professional athletes among the best French teams.
From 2019 the company has decided to expand in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy. For Italy, CimAlp has relied on the experience of TRM.
In the next few days, the testing of CimAlp products will enter the operational phase, with the extended involvement of all the Elite athletes of the TRM Team and, subsequently, with the recruitment of other trail runners in the main Regions of Italy.
These athletes will support the English and Spanish athletes, part of different teams, who, at the same time, participate in the impressive research and development program of a new product line launched by the dynamic French company.
CimAlp products in Italy will be tested for several weeks on trails. During the tests, the athletes will also wear the famous trail running shoes with “graduated” drop insoles (worn by Romain Olivier Team CimAlp and winner of Oman by UTMB® 2019) and all the apparel of the French company.
Several teams of athletes, including the TRM Team, will be engaged in the international testing of products with the aim of transferring the preferences and needs of the trail runners of their country within the apparel range.
There are two aspects that distinguish CimAlp:
In terms of innovation, CimAlp is committed to ensuring greater comfort and thermal protection. The development of new products can count on increasingly high-tech fabrics and fibers, including Cyclone®, a patented technology that allows moisture evaporation up to 10 times faster (French Outdoor Award in the TRAIL category) and ULTRASHELL® membrane 8 times more breathable than a normal hard layer membrane, and at the same time, with a water resistance value of 20,000 Schmerber (compliant with the regulations of ultra trail races of 100km and above).
