14-15 OF MARCH 2015, WEEKEND WITH A DOUBLE LONG RUN AND SURPRISE
For the Weekend 14-15 of March we had planned a double long run as a test for the approaching racing season – 25km+35km with little rest and low carb – after an intense period dedicated to muscle strengthening and proprioception.
Saturday destination Apuan Alps along the Roses Path; Sunday the Crossing Trail Track from La Spezia to Levanto in the always enchanting setting of the Cinque Terre.
But Trail Running often presents unexpected situations. And in fact the Saturday training turned into a Jungle Trail because of the many downed trees on the path from the recent storm that hit the Versilia area. After the first moments of uncertainty we decided to continue the training because trail running is mostly discovery and adventure! Definitely more pleasant the Sunday run. The weather was not so bad and the trail track, sometimes technical, but with many places where if you have a good level of training you may run, has made us forget the fatigue.
