The Sila 3 Vette is a very special Winter Challenge, a extraordinay adventure, that takes place in the Sila mountains, in Calabria. The competition can be tackled by choosing from three categories: run, ski or fat bike. The 2022 edition will take place from 24 to 27 February.

The Sila 3 Vette is a challenge with oneself in contact with nature, before than a race. The longer distances (250k-140k-80k) require specific preparation, necessary to run alone at night, on the snow, in the dark and with temperatures that drop below 10 degrees. Added to this is the fact that the tracks are not marked so you must know how to use GPS navigation systems and you need to study the maps of the territory, as well as carrying a backpack with different mandatory material indicated in the competition regulations.

The competitive race are four, 250k, new for the 2022 edition, 140k, 80k and 40k, and give access to the prizes offered by the International Partners, Rovaniemi150 Idita Sport Alaska and Ultra Mirage in Tunisia. TheĀ  winners of each category, run, ski or fat bike, and competition will receive special invitation and elected testimonial of the Sila 3 Vette to one of the partner races. The 2nd and 3rd place will also be awarded with dedicated prizes offered by the organization.

The races start from the center of the village of Camigliatello Silano climbing towards the highest peaks of the Sila plateau and then staying on an average of 1400 meters minimum to a maximum of 1900 meters. The tracks differ according to the length but all ensure breathtaking trails immersed in unspoiled nature. Also part of the offer are is the 21k, less demanding and a soft approach for all runners wishing to try a snow trail.

The Sila is also an ideal area for hikers open throughout the winter, with interesting itineraries that can be traveled on with snowshoes. One within everyone’s reach is that of Lake Ariamacina, a naturalistic oasis about ten km from Camigliatello Silano. The periplus of the reservoir measures about seven km and does not present any particular differences in height.
