We left Luca running with a stroller and Baby Stella at the Milan Marathon where he established an incredible record and we find him on the mountain paths in Agerola, a small village of the Amalfi Coast between Amalfi and Positano, starting point of the famous Sentiero degli Dei. We are at the Amalfi-Positano Endurance Ultra Trail with several athletes coming from 15 different Countries.
After months of road running workouts to get ready for the Milan Marathon, Luca Gugliemetti has re-started to train on the mountain tracks. The transition from road running to the trail running takes more or less 2 months. The benefits for athletes like Luca, who run short-medium distances races, are that they gain speed but when they go back to trail running they need to work on re-calling the ability to manage uphill and downhill run and instability of foot supports.
Luca ran a very good race and finished 6° Overall, so it seems like the training during the transition period is working!
Congratulations to Luca trained by the TRM Coaches for the excellent race, the trail running season awaits you.
