The TRM Training Plan Snow Running is a PROFESSIONAL program designed for athletes preparing to compete in snow trail running races. It is a program based on the TRM Method, a system tested in firsthand by the TRM Coaches and athletes, finisher of short-medium distance snow trail competitions or endurance snow races such as the Grande Corsa Bianca 170km. Each training plan is UNIQUE and CUSTOMIZED. The training tables are developed with a retro-planning mode, starting from the goal races of the year. Workloads are progressive and modified every mesocycle, evaluating the athlete performance improvements.

Description

OBJECTIVES

The training program enables to:

  • optimize the training considering the specificity of running in the cold, on snow and ice
  • balance workloads considering training, competitions and recovery time
  • develop the correct running technique on the snow
  • strengthen the muscle-tendons and joint aspects to prevent injuries caused by a multi-day effort. You will be training also in the Gym with workouts for long distances trail runners
  • train prolonged resistance skills (Endurance) with specific outdoor sessions on terrains and situations simulating race conditions
  •  learn to manage sleep deprivation
  • manage the problems related to freezing
  • train your recovery capability during multi-day competitions
  • learn how to manage the medical problems that most frequently arise including foot care, prevention and treatment of blisters
  • choose the correct material and gear according to the low temperatures, learn how to keep your water from freezing, optimize the preparation and weight of the camelback
  • learn to read and prepare maps and roadbooks
  • choose and manage a GPS Navigator

The Snow Running training program is suitable for:

  • trail runner with experience in short and medium distance trail running races who want to try his hand at snow competitions
  • trail runner with experience in ultra trail competitions wishing to approach snow races > 80km or similar to the Grande Corsa Bianca

HOW TO APPLY

To start the program you need to:

  • identify the training program considering your goal race distance of the year
  • choose the duration of the program, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months. Keeping in mind that long the distance races require more training time
  • send the necessary documentation for personal identification and fulfillment of legal obligations (identity document, health ID card, medical certificate)
  • proceed to payment

After completing the procedure for the purchase and delivery of the documents, within 2 working days the Secretariat will send you the link to complete the Athlete Questionnaire (Assessment) and will confirm the start date of the program.
